The father was born in Strasburg, France, where he was reared to manhood, and at an early age came to America. Freak Jarrot-Tillman, and Rat Victor Tillman, located at St. Louis and engaged in the steamboat business. He was one of the originators of the Anchor Line, and was connected with it at the time of his death. He died in 1865.
